Dr. Lyons is a native West Michigander and a graduate of Jenison High School, where his early interests in academics, athletics, and leadership began to take shape. He went on to pursue a strong educational foundation, earning an undergraduate degree in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Findlay, a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from Western Michigan University, and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Grand Valley State University. Prior to opening his concierge private practice, Dr. Lyons completed a wide range of clinical rotations across Michigan and Colorado in healthcare, rehabilitation, and sports medicine settings, experiences that helped shape his comprehensive and patient-centered approach to care.

Dr. Lyons is a licensed and State Board–Certified Physical Therapist who continues to invest heavily in professional development. He currently holds 13 professional certifications and association memberships across multiple specialty areas, including therapeutic dry needling, blood flow restriction using surgical-grade tourniquet systems, extracorporeal shockwave therapy, laser/LED therapy, musculoskeletal ultrasonography, and advanced strength and conditioning. He is also a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, a distinction held by a small percentage of practicing clinicians. This background allows him to thoughtfully integrate advanced technology, point-of-care diagnostic ultrasound, regenerative medicine principles, and three-dimensional movement analysis into comprehensive evaluations and treatment plans—delivered in the comfort of a patient’s home when appropriate. His focus remains on identifying the true source of dysfunction and supporting efficient, sustainable tissue healing rather than simply managing symptoms.

Dr. Lyons is board certified and registered in musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging (RMSK) through the Alliance for Physician Certification and Advancement (APCA). This rigorous certification reflects advanced competency in diagnostic imaging and image-guided procedures for musculoskeletal conditions. He is currently the only Physical Therapist in the state of Michigan to hold the RMSK designation, joining a small group of clinicians nationwide and globally who have met this standard. For patients, this translates into clearer diagnostic insight, improved prognostic information, and more precise clinical decision-making.

Throughout his career, Dr. Lyons has worked with a broad and diverse patient population. His experience includes inpatient rehabilitation for individuals with traumatic brain injury, stroke, amputations, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis, as well as acute-care and ICU-level physical therapy for cardiothoracic post-operative patients, orthopedic trauma, and joint replacement. In his current practice, he treats a wide range of neuromusculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions, including care for high-level and competitive athletes. Many of his patients are professionals and executives with demanding schedules, who value efficiency, discretion, and high-quality care delivered with flexibility.

In 2019, Dr. Lyons was selected to participate as a Fellow of Applied Functional Science through the Gray Institute for Functional Transformation (GIFT). This post-doctoral fellowship emphasizes advanced assessment, movement science, rehabilitation, and injury prevention through a three-dimensional movement lens. The fellowship continues to influence how Dr. Lyons evaluates movement, restores function, and helps patients reduce the risk of future injury.

At the core of Dr. Lyons’ work is a commitment to service, lifelong learning, and helping individuals move and live better. Outside of clinical practice, he enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, biking, camping, and mountaineering—activities that reinforce his appreciation for movement, resilience, and overall wellness.
